After seven months of physical therapy for microscopic fractures of the lower back due to osteoporosis, I needed to find a personal trainer. I needed a trainer who understood the disease and would help rebuild the bone that I had lost. I was diagnosed with a rare, sudden onset of osteoporosis and was critically in need of heavy weight training and nutritional support. Paul came highly recommended by his gym manager.

It didn’t take long before I knew I could trust that Paul would help, without causing injury. Before I started with Paul, it was difficult for me to hold a dinner plate or sit for more than a few minutes.  I had just returned to work after 7 months away from teaching, and could not tolerate any additional time away from work.

After two years of training with Paul, my osteoporosis has been reversed. According to my endocrinogist and a spine specialist, my results were due to heavy weight training, regular exercise, and change of diet. While training me, Paul had to consider my limitations due to a surgically repaired shoulder and previous knee fracture, but never stopped encouraging me to continue to work my hardest.

Initially, my goal was to maintain my bone density and to live what I considered a normal life without pain. Through the training and nutrition program designed by Paul, along with his support over the past three years, he helped reversed my osteoporosis, increase muscle strength, flexibly, and endurance. Who would have ever thought that I would be skiing again, taking kettle bell boot camp classes, running 5k races and now training for a 180mile relay.

I highly recommend Paul for personal training. Paul pushes me with subtle motivational comments that help me understand what I need and can do to maintain good health and stay fit. His high level of knowledge, professionalism and encouragement is what has influenced my choice to continue with personal training. I never feel rushed and always feel my concerns are being addressed. Paul always corrects form or anything I may do that will not create a positive effect with my training program. There are many trainers available to choose from, but finding a personal trainer who has a balanced understanding of nutrition, technique, motivation, and  developing specific goals, all being encouraged with and uplifting sense of humor can be hard to find. I am thankful I found these qualities in Paul.

Paul has changed my life.  In the three years he has trained me, he not only strengthened my body, but strengthened my relationship with my body.  Through his humor, no-excuses-attitude, and unyielding support, I have gained stamina, coordination, balance and strength.  I came to him terrified of machines, weights, the gym itself, and have come to enjoy and look forward to my time training with him.  I never thought I would last at the gym, nevermind actually become good at exercising.  But through his calm, focus and coaching, I stayed, and it is the best investment I have ever made in myself.  I know that every time I go and train with him, no matter how crummy I felt before, I will always feel better after.  With Paul, I have learned that my once dreams of being physically fit are now achievable goals.  I look forward to years of working together, and aspiring to new goals in training.

I have been extremely fortunate to have the opportunity to work with Paul.  His kettlebell classes are outstanding and after only a few sessions I saw my fitness levels soar!  Paul creates a supportive atmosphere that allows you to challenge yourself to your fullest potential.  At the end of each class, I am amazed at what I have accomplished and look forward to coming back every week!  Paul has helped me gain self-confidence and has inspired me to become the best athlete that I can be.
